How did she ever get hired in the first place if that's her creative process? She wouldn't succeed in the indie book publishing world on Kindle Unlimited with this kind of crap. From what I get, she does very little except pitch ideas. |

I guarantee that if Higley is still head writer at the end of this year, Days will not be renewed. I've said it for sometime, Corday is STUPID AND A LIAR and if he thinks Higleys writing will increase ratings, he deserves everything that is coming to him. Based on this latest news, Days should have not been renewed. I can only imagine how much the guarantee had to be for Corday to agree for Days to stay on for another year. Higley must have signed on for dirt cheap and that's just what the viewers will see, pathetic writing....Corday reaps what he sows. Karma |

And very bad ideas at that. Also, why would they want to keep someone who was giving unauthorized interviews on Facebook, etc.? I mean, it's not Varni levels of bad PR, but still... |

I think it would be better if people who are "pooper scoopers" when they walk their dogs, save it up and mail it to the studio! :D |

The problem with Dena is she has no clue on how to execute stories. She comes up with good "ideas." But an idea is not a STORY! Stories need to be written in long form....with a beginning...middle and end. So the writing team has a base to work from. So they're all on the same page. And aren't just guessing and making shit up as they go. I assume the reason they are giving her a breakdown writer as co-head....is they feel he could help fill in the missing links with her writing. Though....I doubt he'll be allowed to with her in charge. I have watched Days twice since November (the least amount I have in two decades) and this news gives me NO urge to tune back in. We don't know that at all. I'm in a wait and see mode. With this taping schedule, I find it pointless to fret about something that may or may not happen 6 months from now. ;) |

They're taking the month of March off. I'm not positive about this one, but I'm hearing they may also be taking April off. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. If this is temporary which seems to be rumored (but may just be grasping at straws), that could be a good thing. |

Days is just...I don't even know how to explain it. No show has gone through the amount of regime changes this show has. Not to mention, bringing back the same head writers again and again. Sure, soaps have had their share of bad head writers, especially over the past 20 years, but you look back and, for better or worse, they stuck with those same head writers for years and, when they finally made a change, it stuck for awhile. I'm convinced Days believes instability is a good thing now. I mean, stick with a direction. Even when this show keeps a head writing team for a few years, you either have instances where the network interferes or instances where there is a clashing of visions between the co-head writers and everything goes down the toilet. This really is beyond embarrassing at this point. Hopefully, fans rally and Dena gets ousted...again. And, hopefully, this time the show realizes it needs to stick. Pick a direction and stick with it. |

I have no doubt that "suits" are likely a huge impediment to the creative process. No doubt at all. But maybe they kept asking "then what" cause there was not usually any apparent end goal for any of the things she proposed. It sounds like she writes backwards into relationships instead of developing the relationships and then letting those guide the plot. I would think the answer to "then what" should always be obvious after a big event because the whole point of big events (once the immediate shock wears off) is the aftermath and payoff. If you've got no idea how your big events will affect your characters then you've got bigger problems than trying to come up with the Next Big Plot Point. That's like asking someone to go on a trip with you and only telling them where you'll be leaving from, but not where you're going or how you'll get there. Though, in my limited experience, Dena is certainly not the only soap writer with lack-of-payoff issues. Unfortunately. |

So here'd the thing. For those unhappy with Dena, we're really in a lurch here. We complain about Dena and they do what? Bring back Tomlin, Whitesell, or both. So I mean...be specific. |

A campaign to fire Dena should be done in conjunction with a campaign to hire Sheri Anderson. If Sheri can't commit because of lousy pay, then fundraising should be a part of the campaign. |

I don't think fundraising for that is the slightest bit plausible. I doubt that would be her hang up anyway. |

Is it implausible because it's too much money to raise? Can we find out what DAYS is willing to pay and what Sheri is willing to accept and give what's needed? |

I really don't think it would help to mention a specific choice to write the show because that comes off too agenda driven when you simply want the show to grasp that your just concerned. Keep it general. I would just advocate for fresh blood, personally. That is really what is needed. The show needs a fresh perspective. Promote from within the writing team or hire someone that has never had a chance at Days. That is what I would aim for. Something like...#Days does not need more of the same! Stop the recycling! Just say no to Higley, Tomsell, etc, Give us fresh writers! I suck at coming up with stuff like that but something like that. You don't want them to think your irrational, a crazy shipper fan, agenda-driven, etc. The campaign worked the last time because people avoided that. It was just people calling and tweeting as concerned fans worried about the show and all suggestions were kept very general. |

lol Josh is out, and Dena is still there???? This is Days in a nutshell, quite honestly if, they had wanted topnotch writers they had hired creative writers to begin with, let's be honest here in recent years, it has been Dena, MarDar, TomSell, Dena and Josh , hmm it tells me everything I need to know about Corday, NBC, Sony, they have no clue that there are stories , and interesting characters which make a good show. |

She does write for him but is the material good? That's a matter of opinion. DH wrote some of my favorite Lumi scenes in the summer of 2003 and that was the reason I, and a lot of Lumi fans were hopeful for a reunion when she became the head writer in 2008. But what she actually wrote was Lucas catching EJ/Sami in bed, Lucas getting involved with Chloe and Chloe cheating on him with Daniel. |

Dena either gives Corday daily mouth hugs or has some blackmail with some executives/Corday. This just doesnt make sense. She always wins and gets her way. I would be glad to campaign and call the bolded number daily if need be from different numbers and voices lol. |
