She worked there under James Reilly and Sally Sussman Morrina, did she not?
She's been there since 1985, so she started when Sheri Anderson was there.

That's so depressing. Sheri and Higley couldn't be more different.

It's like a bizarro training program where she learned all the very worst aspects of every head writer she worked for (because none of them are perfect) instead of the best.

You'd never believe she's been around the show 30 years the way she treats the show and its history. Josh got it and all he did was watch it on TV.

You know, maybe that's the problem. She never actually watched the show.

They should tie her to a chair then and make it happen. Here's the 89's and (most of) 90's. And here's your crap.

I think that's the same problem with Ken. He doesn't actually watch the show, so he thinks that Higley's history with the show makes her the best writer. His penchant for "loyalty" to certain folks is probably one of his biggest assets and greatest faults.

I honestly don't know why he just doesn't give full creative control over to someone else at this point. He can still own it, but just keep all the creative hires and decision-making to someone else.

I always wondered why Dena Higley's DAYS were so bad. She has such a long history with the show. She worked there under James Reilly and Sally Sussman Morrina, did she not? She should know what works and what doesn't. No one is that stupid. Why are her storylines so out there and so not-DAYS? I think she just does whatever Corday wants, and that's why he loves her so much...and keeps hiring her.
Wasn't she on the show also during Sheri Anderson? So many brilliant minds to look up to and yet she got nada from working with them..

It's crazy! That's why I think she's just very appeasing to Corday and let's him take the lead, versus other writers who pitch more and are a little more headstrong about their material? I don't know, maybe way off.

The show got renewed 5 times while Higley was headwriter. Since he's not a creative guy maybe that's all Corday cares about and why he thinks she's good. The only way she gets fired is if NBC sees the ratings collapse and forces Corday and Sony to make a change.

Good God. This is the epitome of why Higley should never write for this show again. She basically admits that she can't write character-driven stories.

She wants characters to fall in love and shoot each other (a la EJ/Sami). Idiocy. Just idiocy. She doesn't really want them to talk about feelings. In other words, no depth.

LOL so her writing was great but the people on set were changing everything and that's their fault if the show was bad. How convenient.

It's so funny :teehee: . So everyne hated her stories: EP, network, directors, producers, actors... (everyone except KC).
That's actually not what I would be proud of :blulaugh: :blulaugh: .

As they say, if you think there are only fools around you, it's you who's a fool.

I think, she has more psychological issues than Summer LOL.

What's really funny is she's says it was a year and a half after she came on as headwriter. But all that stuff happened in 2008 which was like six months after she became headwriter. I mean she can't even get basic shit right.

And yes, the baby switch was the one semi-decent idea she had. Even a blind dog finds a bone once in awhile.

Never mind, I just proved I'm even dumber than she is.

I know, right?!

And that's why Ken Corday is the problem. He's seemingly the only one who likes her! Ken, get off the golf course and get a clue!

Wait a minute, I do not want by any means defend Dena but I think she has a point, I think like this if a writer has a vison and write after that and producers, network going in and changing, poking in story, characters, etc., then it will be a fucking mess. So quite honestly you can not just lay all the blame on the writers if there are more cooks in the soup, so to speak. IMO

All I can think of whenever this revolving door of Days writers keeps turning is the very same stupidity operating as with this one here:
