Just finished watching Days & 2 things kept popping into my head
No offense to anyone with any issues.

1. Is Dena possibly bipolar & is Summer based on Dena ?

2. Is the girl Joey met in the park today ( Jade? ) Ava's daughter?
For some reason I got that vibe today .
I honestly hope she's not bipolar. Bipolar disorder is such a complicated condition, IMO, and I feel like the writing at Days just isn't at a high enough level to deal with that.

I also hope Jade isn't Ava's daughter. There is more to the Johnson history than things related to Ava.
The casting call for Jade was for an Asian-American or other minority actress so I don't think the original intention was for Jade to be Ava's daughter. Now, that may have changed, but I'm guessing any resemblance is purely coincidental.

Jade looks just like Ava.
When Jade turned a certain way her face
looked like Ava's it was weird
I am glad others noticed it too.
.
Jade and Ava look nothing alike. You guys are reaching a bit LOL.
Jade from a certain angle had that same thin, drawn face like Ava.
Believe me I don't want her to be Ava's but who knows

Well, I thought today was pretty okay (@esp13, we must be on the every other day plan right now...). I've lost my patience with the flashbacks, but that was the worst part of the S&K scenes. Steve's reactions today worked as kind of a summary of the story... after everything she's done, his first instinct is to try to revive her just like Kayla's, then he remembers how much he hates her and why, and ends up sitting across the room hoping she'll just die.

While the Stava sex clearly played as rape to me, the endless flashbacks seem to be pushing the infidelity view, so I enjoyed seeing Kayla's reaction to Steve touching Ava, and Kayla not being okay with him seeing Ava in the hospital, and Roman dragging him. Steve's jackass moments seemed to play that way today, instead of getting swept under the rug like often.

The scene with Kayla going in to confront Ava was well done, even if the plotting is kind of dumb.

Jade and Joey were great for a first day. Hope they have a story going forward.

The Summer backstory is filled with all kinds of WTFery, but I'm going with it for now because I'm glad to see a fresh face on the show, and especially someone to shake up Brady and Theresa. I've decided I can somewhat enjoy Thrady as a couple as long as they're not happy, so this moves that in the right direction for me. And I like Nicole in this mix, instead of just moping about Daniel.

eta: It does feel like whoever dressed the California set studied old reruns of 90's sitcoms to get just the right look.

Forgetting the timeline that makes zero sense, I think the part I hate most is the fact that there was zero build up. We're only in February. Month 5 since HigGriff started writing. You'd think month 5 would be in their bible they proposed when getting the head writing job. So from August to December when we barely saw Daniel, they could've planted little seeds of Daniel talking to someone on the phone or something. That person turns out to be Summer, who Daniel is started to suspect is his sister. Sure, it was nice not getting Daniel during those months, but it's making this story worse.

So instead of making her an eggbaby which would have been annoying but somewhat made sense, they are saying that Maggie gave birth to Summer pre-Mickey, WHAT?
Honest to God, though, I'm actually okay with it. I haven't watched today's show yet, but I actually like that Maggie gave birth pre-Marty Hansen. I could actually buy that. This is the story that should've happen when MarDar decided to make Daniel Maggie's son. They could've easily explained it that Maggie gave birth to a child she gave up because she just couldn't raise a child by herself on the farm. The woman was crippled! No way could she take care of a child. Easy as pie. Maggie is Daniel's mom, Melanie's grandma and it doesn't insult the audience's intelligence. Instead, MarDar decided to go with the surrogate route, which was just stupid.
I'm no Maggie fan, but I'd have had a lot of trouble believing Maggie would have never tried to find a child of hers.

So is Josh a Daniel fan too? Or is there a twist coming?

The worship is still pretty thick and this appears to be his story.
I think JG can't be inconsequent. It's too late to change the direction. They shouldn't have made a story out of his death though.

So far the only reason to believe Maggie possibly gave up her child is what
Summer said her adoptive parents told her. I really think they are lying about
how they were able to adopt Summer.

Speaking of analogies between Days and Y&R once again, I checked Wikki and other sources, and apparently it was Josh Griffith (at the very end of his stint) who wrote Nikki as Dylan's mother - the maternity reveal that raised similar questions for long-time viewers.

Are there no good soap writers anywhere willing to write for Days??????

Joey is at the park and very angry and there's a new girl saw him said I'm Claudia.

Steve tells Kayla let Ava die . She said to stop and as much as I hate her I'm not going to let her die. Steve hear abundance sound and told her it's too late and too bad.
The girl Joey met said her name was Jade. There was no Claudia in that scene.

Part of me feels like they didn't know what to do with Brady/Nicole/Theresa, so they just made up this mess. Too bad they just didn't write them out instead. The cast could use a trim....

Melissa was "born" in 1971 and Hope in 1974. But Melissa became younger than Hope when Lisa Trusel and Kristian Alfonso took over the roles. Melissa aside, Summer would be older than Hope. Addie was pregnant with Hope when Maggie met Mickey.
Brady thought the woman in his dreams (Summer) was 30-35. It was noted in his notebook and he said it to Dario, I think. It likely means the show is seeing the character in this age range.
Yes I heard them say 30-35 last week, too. I remember because I thought there's no way she can be playing 30-35.

Well, when Marty (aka Mickey with amnesia) ended up at Maggie's farm, she was crippled and single. She and Mickey married, but he was sterile so they couldn't have kids. A big part of Maggie's story back in the day was how badly she wanted a child. She and Mickey adopted Melissa. They had Janice as their ward. And, eventually, Maggie decided to be a surrogate so "she could experience pregnancy and having a child." That child was Sarah (originally believed to be fathered by Evan whatshisname, but revealed to be Neil Curtis's kid later).

So, no, Maggie never mentioned giving up a child before she met Mickey. And her whole "I want to experience pregnancy" think doesn't really work if she had actually been pregnant at some point in time. So, assuming Bummer is a child Maggie had before she met Mickey and Maggie gave her up for adoption, then it's an even harder sell than John's fling with Tori that produced Paul.
I'm on your side about this whole mess, but chronologically, Melissa didn't become part of Mickey and Maggie's life until Lisa Trusel took over the part in 1983, which happened after Sarah was born. Just a quick fix up.

Carry on.
Actually, Linda and Melissa lived with Mickey and Maggie on the farm for a while in the 70s. Linda was trying to pass Melissa off as Mickey's daughter (for a second time, since he had acquired amnesia and she thought he wouldn't remember the first round).

We all think the show is bad now, just wait until Diva Dena comes on board. Oh boy. To make it worse all the old 70, 80, and 90's you tube clips are going or gone. I can't take this shit.
