Maybe they didn't want Summer to be a real Maggie kid so she can be a trainwreck and then killed off or shipped away. No way is this a long term character.
The casting call said she was a small-time thief. So it's possible.

Are we supposed to root for Thrady?
Because..... just like before their great love blossomed Brady seems to not give a s... about Theresa.
And Theresa screaming/whining/crying about a pretty fit Brady (who's happily playing darts with Summer btw) to Nicole who lost his fiance was disgusting. Should we feel sorry for Theresa because she is jealous Brady is talking to some woman, crazy or not?

And yes, Theresa, before you decide to save someone ask them to show their medical files to see if they aren't mentally ill because it's really important.

An annoying episode overall.
I don't think your Supposed to root for any couple, but in the end even Theresa admitted of course Brady couldn't not save someone drowning

Quoting limited to 3 levels deepThis
So far the only reason to believe Maggie possibly gave up her child is what
Summer said her adoptive parents told her. I really think they are lying about
how they were able to adopt Summer.
actually according to Summer Daniel said Maggie told him the same story about giving up a child... I just think it's stupid to keep shoving Daniel Jonas in out faces....

I must have missed Maggie telling Daniel she gave up a baby :blulaugh:
I thought she didn't know about her missing eggbaby.

Somebody might have before Daniel. When Dan told her he'd found his birth mother that was when she told him hers was a farm girl and she had a condition, couldn't take of the baby.

when the writers don't have the history, they just make stuff up.

Nicole (I'm paraphrasing): all the years I've known Daniel, he's never mentioned her name.

Theresa: maybe there's a reason for that

Me: yeah, cause the writers pulled that out of their ass.

Yep, just like how they pulled Tori and Paul out of their asses.
Yep, like Lysie said this feels like such a Tomsell thing except we know it's not.

Well, when Marty (aka Mickey with amnesia) ended up at Maggie's farm, she was crippled and single. She and Mickey married, but he was sterile so they couldn't have kids. A big part of Maggie's story back in the day was how badly she wanted a child. She and Mickey adopted Melissa. They had Janice as their ward. And, eventually, Maggie decided to be a surrogate so "she could experience pregnancy and having a child." That child was Sarah (originally believed to be fathered by Evan whatshisname, but revealed to be Neil Curtis's kid later).

So, no, Maggie never mentioned giving up a child before she met Mickey. And her whole "I want to experience pregnancy" think doesn't really work if she had actually been pregnant at some point in time. So, assuming Bummer is a child Maggie had before she met Mickey and Maggie gave her up for adoption, then it's an even harder sell than John's fling with Tori that produced Paul.
I'm on your side about this whole mess, but chronologically, Melissa didn't become part of Mickey and Maggie's life until Lisa Trusel took over the part in 1983, which happened after Sarah was born. Just a quick fix up.

Carry on.
Actually, Linda and Melissa lived with Mickey and Maggie on the farm for a while in the 70s. Linda was trying to pass Melissa off as Mickey's daughter (for a second time, since he had acquired amnesia and she thought he wouldn't remember the first round).
Always wonderful to remember Linda, though I meant Melissa being considered as Mickey/Maggie's child, which didn't happen until later. As you certainly know, the often forgotten Bob Anderson was her first true father figure.

The only possible explanations that would make sense:

1. Summer is lying about everything. She is a con artist.
2. Maggie returned to the farm years later (off-screen) LOL.

At this point, I'm just going to believe that prior to 2003 or so, everything that happened on this show is a lie.

I feel like Summer's version of her/Daniel doesn't mesh with what Fynn told Brady about them but I tend to tune him out so I can't remember exactly what he said? I think it was something to the effect that she had some issues and he tried to help her but couldn't, and then left town. He implied that was the end of their relationship.

I think she's lying about everything but will suck Brady in so when the dna test comes back negative, he'll feel obligated to help her start a new life in Salem.

But, Daniel does have that file on her, so wtf knows??

Eh, this is such a universal thing to do. I don't think Tomlin/Whitesell are all that exceptional re: this particular subject.

All hail and praise to King Daniel. What a crock of shit. I truly hate the character more now than ever. I'm waiting for all of Salem to elevate him to sainthood.

I don't think she's being truthful with Brady. She said she was in the psyche ward for a few days but I think it was longer and not just one visit. I definitely don't think she checked herself in. Hopefully Dario knows more than what he's saying.

I WAS beginning to like Theresa, but her constant ranting and carrying on everyday is really getting tiresome.

Is there any way that she could be Janice Barnes? The Christmas ornament in December? Complicated history? Too easy. They'll just pull this shit out of their asses.

Also.. Don't judge me, but... The Steve / Kayla / Ava story is the only one based in logic and flowing well. It is a retread of some of the last round, but they are knocking it out of the park. It is like we are finally getting the fall out of round 1.

Isn't MW on contract now though?

The casting call described the role as short-term contract (whatever it means).

With the Daniel praise, flashbacks of Ava and Steve, and the Brady/Summer story, this episode truly sucked.
