I'm hoping Josh and Beth will up the stakes and make Shawn, Belle, and Phillip more interesting. I'm really looking forward to Chloe coming back and interacting with them. Loved their last go around so much..So much missed potential. Which is why I'm glad they're all back..Do wish we had Jay though...Please cut your hair and come back this summer.

I agree with KLK it feels more like a Philip/Belle/Claire triangle.

Don't like that Hope greeted Claire more like a good friend of Ciara's rather than her granddaughter, they need to do a better job emphasizing these relationships. However I loved that Hope used Eric as a warning to Ciara.

Yea they definitely made it seem J&M were together much longer before she died when she came back. In either case the heart wants what it wants and those connections can be there after a week or years.
That's true!!! they did. They made it seem like RoJohn and Marlena had been together for years and years, which I would've loved!! wish Deidre hadn't left in 87. the point is that John and Marlena were soulmates from day one, what they shared was beautiful deep unspeakable bond. Belle's marriage to Philip was a joke, the most pathetic relationship in DAYS history. She spent 2 years of that marriage pinning after Shawn, being jealous of Shawn and Mimi, trying to stop his marriage to Mimi and convince him to be with her instead and the only reason they didn't get back together was because Shawn did not want to break up her family or Mimi's heart. Belle was happy about the IVF switch and that she was carrying Shawn's baby. She didnt even flinch when her marriage to Philip ended and he left town. And now I'm supposed to believe that she suddenly has feelings for him and is conflicted?? please!! I dont buy it for a second. The John/Marlena affair was beautifully written, it was about two people who loved each other so deeply and immensely it hurt!! we understood them, we understood the circumstances and we understood their mistakes. we rooted for them!! It was an epic love story!! Unlike Belle and Philip they didn't do it like bunnies and acted like stone cold bastards to the people around them. They were apologetic and genuine about the remorse and regrets they felt for hurting everyone. You kind of skipped over the part that happened in 2007 though. After she and Shawn reunited and they got engaged, she had an affair with Philip. That's the part that is similar to what is happening now, except without Belle being married to Shawn. She's not having an affair, but the push/pull with Philip is very similar.

I think I should feel more ambivalent about Joey killing Ava than I do. Talk about mixed emotions. I'm thrilled she's gone but I'm decidedly unthrilled with the way it happened. I'll be interested to see if they can make me believe this was ... justified, I guess and, even more, if they can make me be okay with the whole thing being covered up.
Right now, I'm not sure they can but I'll give them a shot.

Even that felt stale to me, though Jay and Martha did light up the screen, I never completely felt the love in "Phelle round 2" either. It felt like it was more about Philip giving her the money, security and stability that Shawn wasn't giving her. Like Belle herself confessed to Marlena in 2007.
I will say that this would be more interesting with Jay. But I hate the way Belle is being written and portrayed so I don't I'd be able to enjoy this even with Jay as Philip.

I didn't see the first round of Shawn/Belle/Philip, but at this point, I'm not feeling it. Re-hashing stories is a staple of soaps, but sometimes it just doesn't work that well.
Bring on some new guy -- a hot lawyer of some kind for Belle. IDK why, but I'm picturing a smart, sophisticated black guy with a lot of charm. I know Days sucks at writing new characters, but the 30-something crowd needs a jolt, IMO.

But you're confusing my comments about the history with some kind of praise for the story. I don't have a real problem with Philip and Belle this time around, but I'm not saying it's some great love affair. All I'm saying is that it's consistent with their history.

This was not a turn I wanted. It doesn't seems like there's a twist either. Nope. Unless it's going to be some kind of hallucination because Joey was drugged, I don't see a twist coming. And that disappoints me quite a bit.

TB is not a good actress--I don't care what anyone says to the contrary.
This teen scene is lame and creepy. LOL at the sound track of all the voices at that "rad party".
How does Philip or anyone know how "dangerous" Deimos is? He's been in jail in Greece for 30 years.

Since when is Ciara old enough to drink, not to mention order a gin and tonic in a bar. Great mom, Belle, asking her what she wanted to drink, too, and as an underage singer in a bar. This story is awful.

Glad CIARA finally changed out of her outfit she has worn since Chase raped her. Did she ever shower? I would think she would have at least showered after he violated her.

Nope. Unless it's going to be some kind of hallucination because Joey was drugged, I don't see a twist coming. And that disappoints me quite a bit. Same. I'd really like to know if this was Josh's way of wrapping up this story quickly. If so, there had to be another way.
