I don't give 2 shits that Hope killed dirty bastard Stefano and is framing Andre for it. After all those 2 have done, they deserve worse. LOL Why nobody took them out decades ago is a mystery. They don't deserve to live. Stefano had a heart and cared about his children? Since when? :blulaugh:

I HATE that they have written Joey as Ava's killer. She deserved to die, but not at the hands of likable dumbass Joey.

I'm going to have to watch this show as a dark comedy. It is too stupidly written for it to be anything else.
Stefano had a heart and cared about his children? Since when?

:hail: :hail: :hail: :hail:

Thank you. This whole notion that somehow "loving your family" means controlling them, attempting to kill them; perhaps imprisoning them and finally teaching them the tricks of the trade: sadism, treachery, how to dupe, lie, spin and threaten, is utter nonsense. Anyone, whether Stefano Dimera or Victor Newman or Victor Kiriakis, who can claim to love their children, yet be ready, willing and able to murder, kidnap, torture other people and their children, is incapable of love. Seriously, the things Stefano and Andre have done to others, not once, not impulsively but planned and carried out over decades, is proof that they are both narcissistic psychopaths.

I can't stand Rafe and honestly am disappointed at the writing for Hope and would love to see more actual grieving from her. That said, it was long past time some Brady took out Stefano. What he did to Hope, her family, her children over the years was more than enough justification for her to go mentally insane long enough to kill him. He may not have kidnapped Bo THIS time but he has been responsible for hurting Bo physically (having his guard shoot Bo back in1984, having his goons beat up Bo in 2011 or so and all the years Bo suffered and grieved over losing his brother and his wife to "death" thanks to Stefano). The "pathetic" defenseless old man in a wheelchair was every bit as evil as always and deserved way more than a quick death. Hope made it easy for him. He really deserved to rot in jail alone and miserable for years.

Andre needs to find the proof of what really happened to Stefano and then go after the 2 idiot cops- Hope and Rafe. They need to pay big time. No way should they get away with this. I want them to pay big time!!

It was nice to see Justin again. I hope we don't have to wait another 3 weeks to see him again.

Loved how protective Steve is of his family.

It was decent episode- the only bright spots were Justin/Victor and Steve/Kayla/Joey.

Everything else sucked as usual.
Hate Rafe so much... years ago I would've bet money I would never say that.

Steve, I love, this guy would not only fall on his sword...He'd grab it and thrust it into himself.

I'm only fifteen minutes in, but I'm going to go ahead and say that this is best Days episode I've seen since late November/early December. There is so much tension, and several great performances today. JLa, SN, and KA are putting in good work today!

Roman knows Andre's innocent. Come on is he covering it up now too? I hope they all fry.
I hope all 3 of them lose their jobs.
This is the same Andre that faked everyone's death and trapped them on Melaswen right? ...I don't feel to bad for him.....Karma is a bitch!!
But he didn't kill any of them.....

I agree but it doesn't make me sympathetic toward Andre; just disappointed in the others. So I can't root for Andre to get revenge.
I'm not sympathetic towards Andre and I don't want to see him get revenge, but I don't like seeing the so-called good guys think they're above the law and pick and choose who should and shouldn't pay for their crimes. And I do want to see Chad go after Hope and Rafe and now Roman, but use the law to do it.
Normally I would agree....I do not like the protagonists being written this way....becoming like the villains.

But honestly with DAYS, with the Dimera villains at this point, their crimes were so many, so heinous and hurt so many people for so long while, not only getting away with the crimes, but being allowed to live in the same communities with their victims, for so so, for decades, as if they were just regular citizens, bugged me. In the 80s when Stefano, the man who tried to blow up a concert hall full of innocents, got away, we did not see him for a while. He was "presumed dead" but not proven to be. But he was not living in a mansion in Salem. But that changed and suddenly the Dimera mansion and Stefano were just living in Salem.
For me, enough already. It was way too over the top to believe that people who had been kidnapped, raped, tortured, had their children kidnapped, had their spouses "killed" and go missing for years could just be OK with living in the same community with no repercussions while felon laughed at them, mocked their existence, their pain, their inability to get justice. It was over the top, ridiculous and no one could expect humans to be OK with what Stefano did. Whether, John, Marlena, Bo, Hope, Steve or Kayla....each and every one had more than ample reason to go insane enough to kill the b*stard.

The boy saw the comet and he felt as though his life had meaning.

I was watching the episode and checking other things on the internet so I might have missed it. Does Kayla know Joey was the one who killed Ava, did Steve get a chance to tell her?

There's no Theresa/Brady/Nicole, there's no NewEggBaby/Daniel stuff, there's tension and actual family drama... In my eyes, that makes it automatically better than anything Days has attempted in 2016.

But he did. Other people died in the "Volcanic" explosions Andre set off. Granted they were mostly extras but death and mayhem happened and it was attempted murder. Some of the regulars did almost die. And Andre was responsible for killing people during the Salem Slasher story .....he was dressing up as Roman and murdering innocent women. Krista, Renee and a woman who was not a regular.

Andre also caused a plane to go down that caused the death of Tony's mother. Other people on that plane nearly died.

hmmm, right-hand-man Sonny? I wanted Sonny to come back gray but with Josh writing, I'm terrified
I wouldn't mind if Sonny came back very angry at the world and delved into business with Victor to try and forget the awful end to his marriage and the fact that Will is dead. Making it part of the plot like that would at least make some sense rather than just randomly changing his personality. He got cheated on and lied to and manipulated by someone he loved very much, who then was brutally murdered which is traumatic in and of itself. But it also means Sonny has zero change of ever resolving any of those aforementioned issues with his now-dead husband.

I mean, I think I'd probably end up at least a little bitter after all that.

But if they were to do that I would hope that a longer-term plan would be in place to inevitably bring him back around to at least a very decent, level-headed person at his core, if not just a bit more edgy. Bonus points if Paul is who eventually gets through to Sonny to remind him of who he is/was. :D But all of that is probably just massive wishful thinking since I don't see how any kind of long-term plan can be in place for Sonny at all with all this writer mix-up, unfortunately.

I wasn't confident before, and I'm even less-so now, that Sonny is back in any kind of on-going capacity. We've had two photos, fairly close together, as our only evidence (along with Jason's confirmation that it's actually him).

This was a damn good episode. Dena may suck but Mark Higley, her husband, is a very good SW. Then again, he was the one that she supposedly wrote through during the writer's strike in 2008 so he has shown to be pretty talented. He would probably be a better HW then her. He really seems to get the characters.

I don't like what Hope and Rafe did but that isn't because I feel it's out of character or because I didn't understand their reasons. It was because we didn't see them even struggle with it and they both seemingly became ok with it. Hope showed a little struggle but got over it quite fast and, especially when they framed Andre, it just didn't feel like there was enough focus on how much of a struggle this was for them. Well, at least in regards to Hope, we got that today big time. That scene with Hope and Roman was BRILLIANTLY written and made some sense out of the garbage Higley put out there. What they did wasn't right and what Roman is doing isn't right either but they took the time to deal with the emotions of the situation and what Hope was going through and brought up the history of the Dimera's, in particular Andre, getting away with crimes for decades. I don't think this ruins anyone. Yes, it's wrong but it's not like the Brady's have ever not gone by the book. Never have they done something this extreme but at some point EVERYONE breaks and 3 decades of the Dimera's messing with them in unspeakable ways and the stain of everything they had recently gone through and the thought that Stefano was responsible for what happened to Bo (which acts as the final straw) makes me accept the fact that they did this and I understand it. No, it's not right but this is a soap and if characters made the right decisions there would be no stories. Today really helped get me on board with Hope again and I really understood why Roman did it and loved the way it was handled. Hope looking at Roman and mentioning she took a life, even if it was Stefano's, and asking Roman if he thought she was still a good person was what this story had been missing. That was the real Hope. Loved that scene. I need Rafe to have a scene like that because his character IMO has taken more of a hit than Hope and I have confidence with JG clearly now in control we will get it.

The Chad stuff with Andre was great. TP and BF brought it and it's the first time I've liked Andre in months. The scene with Abby was awesome too. Just fantastic writing that really enhanced Chad's character.

I'm not a huge fan of the visions and wish they weren't so selective. However, I did like the Caroline/Deimos stuff and today was the first time I finally was invested in the Deimos stuff. It's starting to come together now and we now have him at the center of alot of story. And I like the buildup today with the discovery that Deimos may be behind what happened to Bo. True, it was all done in one episode but man was it chilling, especially the call Hope got.

That Victor/Justin scene was VERY interesting. We know Sonny is back so now I'm really interested in seeing if Sonny becomes more Kiriakis-like. Intriguing.

The Ava stuff was handled as well as it could be. JL was better today IMO. SN and MBE aced it as well. The story is moving fast but that is ok because I don't feel like you can go too long with it anyway but I liked the tone and execution of the scenes.

Today felt like it was taken right out of the Fall. We've been getting more and more Griffith influence the past few weeks but today was the first episode since November that felt completely like him through and through from writing to tone to style and right down to the acting. Everyone brought it today. The performances were great and you can tell the cast is far more motivated for JS writing. Today showed that. It was literally like night and day and today felt like a way of trying to put all the garbage of the past 3 months behind us. Things moved quite fast and we were set on different courses quite quickly today. Much like what happened in August/September. It is jarring but I don't mind after the hell of the last 3 months.

I will enjoy the next few months without Dena. Today was just so damn good and it's a shame that as we watch all his unfold we will all be dreading Dena's eventual return.
Yes! Yes! Yes! To everything you so clearly stated. What a swing this episode was from earlier ones in the week and my god how we needed it!

You hit on every point I came here to make about what we saw happen between Hope and Roman today. The emotions were explored and explained. I do hope Josh does the same for Rafe because his character has been lacking the struggle behind his choice to abandon his ethics to protect Hope. That has to be seen to get on board with his ultimate decision. He can't be flippant about such a thing. I loved Hope questioning whether she was still a good person and I loved Roman being her sounding board coming from the place of experience he does with both Stefano and Andre. Perfect writing.

Honestly I need to click a like beside each separate section on your post. You hit the nail on the head to me. For the first time I'm actually hopeful for what's to come and yes terrified of loving the dramatic action unfolding only to have Dena step back in and muddle it all back up. I desperately want compelling story.
