Interesting episode!
Joey,Joey, Joey :shame: Can't stand Ava so I wasn't sad to see her get killed.
I am sad it was Joey but I can see why he did it . I really hope he gets some help for
his anger issues.
Steve taking the blame is no surprise to me, l wonder how long it will take the Keystone cops
to tie the bloody bandage left in Ava's room to Joey being the killer :blulaugh:

Hope throwing Rafe under the bus when she confessed to Romam
I really can't stand Hope anymore. If she had snapped & shot Stefano once
Okay but she shot him 3 times & now 2 other cops are going cover it up .

If the characters show remorse for their actions and they don't judge other characters harshly for doing less than what they did, I'm okay with them not getting punished either. I wish these horrible things didn't happen but it's too late and sending Hope, Rafe, Roman, Joey, Steve, Kayla all to jail for murder and cover up won't make things better.
I'm not saying they all have to go to jail. Just Joey and Hope. Roman and Rafe can be kicked off the police force and Kayla can lose her medical license and Steve can lose his license to be a PI.
They've done those kinds of consequences before, and it just ends up being irritating. I don't disagree that it's terrible storytelling in general, but eh. I don't have an issue at all with the idea of the "good" people snapping and fighting back, but it's rare that the show is actually prepared to deal with it.

Without having read any of the thread today, I just have to say that today's episode kept me interested and I was pleasantly surprised in how one episode can make a difference.

Lots of good movement today.

I liked Rafe/Chad and Chad/Andre. Happy to see Chad again and it's good to see him have conflicted feelings over Stefano's death. I'm also glad Abby showed up to give him support.

Roman has the Salem brain today! I was not expecting Roman to confront Hope and get the story. I am not surprised that Roman was willing to look the other way, either. I mean, it's Stefano and Andre. It does not bother me that they set up Andre to take the rap. I wonder who else will get to be "in the know" in the story.

I am not a fan of Caroline's "visions", but at least it forced movement in the "who had Bo" story. Glad she told Victor and then passed that info to Hope. The realization for Hope knowing that she likely killed the wrong person was good.

The actor that plays Joey did good today, I thought. He was freaking out and not surprising that Steve immediately told him to get out of there and go home. Can't wait for Kayla to find out it was Joey. And I'm not sad that Ava is gone - I've been ready for her to go since she got there. I don't know how they will be able to exonerate Steve, though. He will likely not go to jail for it.

Stupid part of the show: Hope getting the phone call from someone saying she killed the wrong person. The phone call from Victor was all that was needed to realize that.

hmmm, right-hand-man Sonny? I wanted Sonny to come back gray but with Josh writing, I'm terrified
I wouldn't mind if Sonny came back very angry at the world and delved into business with Victor to try and forget the awful end to his marriage and the fact that Will is dead. Making it part of the plot like that would at least make some sense rather than just randomly changing his personality. He got cheated on and lied to and manipulated by someone he loved very much, who then was brutally murdered which is traumatic in and of itself. But it also means Sonny has zero change of ever resolving any of those aforementioned issues with his now-dead husband.

I mean, I think I'd probably end up at least a little bitter after all that.

But if they were to do that I would hope that a longer-term plan would be in place to inevitably bring him back around to at least a very decent, level-headed person at his core, if not just a bit more edgy. Bonus points if Paul is who eventually gets through to Sonny to remind him of who he is/was. :D But all of that is probably just massive wishful thinking since I don't see how any kind of long-term plan can be in place for Sonny at all with all this writer mix-up, unfortunately.

I wasn't confident before, and I'm even less-so now, that Sonny is back in any kind of on-going capacity. We've had two photos, fairly close together, as our only evidence (along with Jason's confirmation that it's actually him).
I wanted sonny back like ths too because it is insane to me how nonreactive he was to trauma after trauma last year. I would also love for Paul to talk him off the edge. My worry is josh doesnt know how to write characters on the edge. He just kicks them right off and Sonny is probably the best person on the show. I dont want him killing anyone or kicking puppies or whatwver other compelling darkness josh can dream up. But alas he might be back for 4 days again so i wont get my hopes up.

I enjoyed Justin showing up at the mansion to see Victor. Nice seeing the groundwork being laid for Sonny's possible return.
I agree.Pleasant surprise to see Justin today and hear him raise the possibility of Sonny returning to Salem. I also liked seeing Paul.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
In real life that might be feasible but on a soap, nah!
Do people really wanna watch the good guys get off scot free for a murder they committed in cold blood and justify it because the person was a bad human being? Nah!
Yes. I do.

It wasn't murder. It was culling. :blulaugh:

I guess I am one of the few,if any,who believes JLa is not a good actor. His "acting style" honestly reminds me of AS.The actor playing Chase is much better.

I like Hope but I hate that she murdered Stefano, agreed to the cover up,decided to frame Andre for the murder of his own father, and threw Rafe under the bus by revealing his involvement in the cover up to Roman.
Roman also looks like a super hypocrite. He fired Rafe for covering up for his own sister despite having covered up for his own family members and is now okay with Rafe covering up a crime committed by his brother's ex-wife and mother of his niece.

I think Joey was better today, but I actually think Chase is a better actor as well. Joey often looks out of it.

I forgot about Deimos possibly renting Ben's apartment.Where is he actually living?.I was wondering how he was able to get an unconscious woman into his living quarters without attracting attention.Did Caroline leave Victor's mansion on foot? Where are her personal belonging she took with her when she left the mansion? How is it she is walking in the square at a time when Victor and Maggie are talking about going to bed for the night?

Voldy had TB in the "Who's Going" section, saying Joey killing Ava marked the end of her stint. So it appears she is finished.

Well lets see how good Salem PD is on the murder of Ava.

Someone said Joey dropped something on the floor, it was a bloody bandaid and they showed the pillow had blood on it.

So is Dr. Malcolm alive now, didn't we see a body , Hope confessed to killing him...lol

Where did Ciara and Claire go? People keep going missing when they go into the Horton living room. First Jenifer and Eric now the girls.

Ok, i must ask but when did Kayla and Steve remarry? Did I miss a quick scene or something cause everyone keeps saying your husband or wife?
You didn't miss anything. They're just glossing over the divorce thing apparently.
The nurse also called her Dr. Johnson instead of Dr. Brady! Hoping they didn't have them get married off screen in the middle of the Ava crap.... We need a on-screen wedding for them after all this stuff is over!

I feel like Hope has moved in and taken over the whole house, lol. She even has a family picture there.

I thought when the fire happened they said they were only staying the night. I guess it's just one day so far, but they are still there next week.

Oh, did she really call her Dr. Johnson? I missed that. Yeah, I'm going to be disappointed if they're just magically remarried now, but they kind of did the same thing to J/M, so I'm not surprised.

Hope killing Stefano, Joey killing Ava are/were the definition of unnecessary story beats. The sooner both stories go away for good the better. That said...

Our "fallen heroes"

I never felt this story f--ked Hope as obnoxious and unnecessary as this beat was. The dissolution of Hope's mental state up through that shooting was done well for a really extended amount of time following an extreme amount of trauma. Her deciding she was not going to let the Dimera's take anything more from her family (re: cover up, framing) and being rather cold never rang all that false to me. She, after all, believed she killed the man who led to her (ex)husband's death (and who framed her for murder, and who kidnapped her daughter) on top of 30 years of additional abuse. The fact that he was taunting her about her dead (ex)husband to his last breath ... in her shoes I'd remember that and it would cut off guilt even more. The story only really failed in this part because of isolation and the fact none of the characters were allowed to even hint at Bo WHO was the motive. Hope had never experienced this much loss in every aspect of her life in such a short period. Why would she be full of the same emotions a wide-eyed kid who was full of life and hope (re: her reaction to killing the KGB agent in self defense) would be full of?

Rafe? He was one of the less believable people to put in this story along side of Hope. The fact that he was often the HEAVY in the cover up made it worst. Hope should have acted more like Rafe and Rafe more like Hope for the duration of this story. He should have been the one slightly conflicted ... particularly due to his job. They had him multi-task this with being a cop which is something they at least released from Hope's plate before they sent her on this path of illegal activities. The cop angle is IFFY for me. Then there's the fact he is lying to Chad to his face with no remorse showing. Chad considers Rafe his best friend. I'd like them to tie his cover-up issues to his mother/father issues in some strong way.

Roman. Out of all the Brady's he's typically the most straight laced but his decision today felt right/natural between his history with Bo & Hope and his history with Stefano.

Joey. They didn't do right by building him up to the murder stage. Maybe they'll do the aftermath better? Maybe.

I get parents protecting their child, 8 or 18, so I ain't mad at Steve now or Kayla at some later date.

Stefano, Andre and Ava were well past expiration date in the villain department so I ain't mad any of them are gone temporarily or permanently.

I really would like to see most of these character doing therapy now in VH1 series format since so many of them need therapy, lol.

I'm a bit confused as to how Victor suddenly realized that Deimos was behind Bo's kidnapping. I mean, just a few weeks ago, he thought he killed Dan.
Caroline' s vision convinced him.
