In this case yes....because for three decades Stefano got off scott free for years and years and years of kidnapping, torturing, brainwashing and killing people.....innocent people. And he was allowed to live in the community with the victims, the victims who knew, remembered their suffering at his hands. THAT was the bad writing and for some of us THAT was hard to watch. For them to have Stefano play the role of granddad with Theo SICKENED me. No way Abe would ever/should ever have allowed the monster who kidnapped and held his best friend captive for seven years, the man who was behind so many injuries to so many of Abe's friends, be close to his son. For Sami to be involved with a Dimera was SICK. And for John, Steve, Roman, Hope and Marlena to have to be near that man after he brainwashed and kidnapped each and every one of them, taking years away from them with their children, their spouses, their parents....too much. These are people who saw their loved ones physically and emotionally destroyed by Stefano and yet NOTHING. So sorry...I TOTALLY disagree. Had Stefano committed a few crimes and repented, tried to change.....fine. But this man not only lorded his ability to sadistically hurt his victims over them, he taunted them with what he did and would do to the people they loved. I think that is what really put Hope over the top....Stefano trashing Bo to her, laughing that Bo suffered and died. The sadistic narcissist deserved every bit of what Hope did and then some. And because it is not real life we can enjoy it cause heaven knows many of us who complained about the romanticizing of rapists are constantly reminded..."IT's NOT REAL." |

Good guys aren't supposed to murder and cover it up..no matter the provocation. And now making Roman a corrupt cop is disgusting. And yeah it's not real but a soap opera, I get that. But when good guys cross the line they become villains and that is not supposed to happen. You end up with a soap full of bad guys. And I'm glad too see a little karma hitting Hope with that creepy phone call. :blulaugh: |

My mom did also wonder if Deimos was working with Stefano and Andre in this Bo kidnapping. Thus why Aiden was bought in. I also hope it comes out what Aiden was doing. |

Today all around was so much better than we've gotten lately. Love that Sonny is coming back and love Steve desperate to protect. And of course, we got Chabby! :wub2: Billy Flynn was brilliant today in the scene with Chad/Andre and in the Chad/Abby scenes where he was conflicted and then resolved. When he got emotional over his father, I actually started to get teary, I felt so badly for him. THIS is the essence of who Chad is. He feels deeply. (swoon). He did love his father even though he knew what he was. Chad had hope that his father could be a better person. I really loved that Abigail was so supportive and understanding and I loved how Kate played it. It was soft strength and very insightful. Wedding.... :yahoo: I do think we got a major Chabby anvil today. Spoiler: click to toggle Edited by Kiki, Feb 27 2016, 12:25 AM.

To me it's more once you go this route of letting the police decide when it's okay to murder someone, you've lost basic integrity the show needs. It's totally different if someone is threatening you, and you kill in self defense. This was NOT self defense. Hope barged into Stefano's home and murdered him. He has done awful things in the past, but he wasn't threatening her life then. If Rafe had arrested her, I would have been fine with Hope being declared temporarily insane and getting treatment. But no, Rafe gets to decide that it really wasn't a crime to kill Stefano, and he and Hope cover it up, and now Roman agrees. So three cops are now taking the law into their own hands. In addition, they've framed Andre. I agree for all Andre has done, he should have been locked away a long time ago, but putting anyone away shouldn't be based on cops forging evidence. But at least now anytime the writers write themselves into a corner, they can just have the corrupt Salem PD do whatever they want. They're above the law so now they can go after anyone they want with impunity. Great, just what I want to see in my soap. So much for daytime drama. The writers have an easy way out of every story. Hope can just shoot Chase now for raping Ciara. |

I know some are considering what Joey did to Ava as “evil.” I don’t though. I don’t think Josh is necessarily writing good characters as “evil.” I think he’s just writing good characters being pushed to a point and showing that anyone is capable of anything when pushed to that point. I felt this way with Hope, and now I feel this way with Joey. I also think this instance with Steve covering for Joey will play off much better than when Rafe got involved after Hope killed Stefano. Josh seems to hit the correct beats necessary for this kind of story direction. I also have zero issue with Roman keeping Hope’s secret. It’s Stefano DiMera, for crying out loud! If anything, Roman is probably upset that he couldn’t kill the bastard himself. I think that’s a big problem with soaps nowadays. The villains have been on so much and have been turned into real characters that they are no longer viewed as “villains.” These villains shouldn’t have fans upset that they’re being killed. They’re the bad guys! Hope asking Roman if killing Stefano makes her a bad person was the saving grace in all we’ve been watching for the last two months. That was just awesome, and I think Kristian Alfonso did a great job with the dialogue. Also, I love how involved Roman is on this show. Personal feelings towards Josh Taylor put aside, Roman is an important part of this show’s history, and Hope’s history, so it’s nice to see him so involved. I freaking loved the anonymous call Hope received, telling her she killed the wrong guy. That was all kinds of awesome! My only complaint was that I felt like things moved too quickly for some reason. I don’t know. I do like that they had the call happen after Hope finally came to terms with what she did to Stefano. I don’t know, though. I think I would’ve rather had this happen in the next episode. Show Hope really moving on and resuming her normal life AND THEN drop the bombshell with the phone call. And make it the damn final scene! I hope to see more of Maggie getting upset over Victor’s concern for Caroline. That was such an awesome thing to watch last fall, and it really went nowhere after the anniversary episodes. With Josh in charge again, I hope to see that angle return. This episode marked the first time I found interest in Deimos. I still think the character is completely unnecessary and I’ll never forgive the show for casting Vincent Irizarry in this role rather than Julie’s son David Banning. However, branching Deimos out is already doing wonders. I really liked his scenes with Caroline. I also liked that he seemed to show concern for Caroline. I’m sure it’s not genuine. I would actually really like to see Deimos get close to Caroline in order to get Victor. We know Caroline has a thing for flawed men, so I could see her dropping her guard if Deimos really puts on the charm. Also, Deimos finally being connected to Dr. Malcolm helped move this story along. It’s like December and January never happened. The Sonny mention seemed to come out of nowhere. I guess it’s leading to Sonny’s eventual return. I do wonder how we would’ve reacted to the Sonny mention had VI not accidentally included Freddie Smith in that tweet a few weeks ago. Rafe and Chad! I hope that’s something we get back now that Josh is back in charge. That’s a friendship I’d like to see developed further. The only thing that saddens me is that December and January threw this bond off track and now my hopes of Rafe being Chad’s best man are crushed. |

It sounds like something out of the dead parrot sketch to me. (But they often do have real medical people in those under 5 roles at the hospital, so IDK.) |

So I definitely felt different vibes yesterday. I liked the Roman/Hope scene. I mean I may not love the cover-up, but at least it was addressed in terms of Stefano and Andre's crimes which they never paid for. And the bit of dialogue with Hope asking if she was a terrible person and Roman saying no, but he couldn't give absolution was surprisingly well done. I also like the twist of Hope having justified Stefano's death, only to have that pulled out from underneath her. I thought the Joe/Steve scenes were really well played, especially at the beginning. JLa did really well with those I thought. The rest of it played as him just in shock which makes sense. There was definitely a callback (for me) to when Steve took the blame for Duke's death. The Deimos stuff didn't do as much for me other than I'm glad they seem to be setting up the next part of the story. I liked the Chad stuff, especially the scenes with Abby. BF plays the conflicted emotions really well. I'm ready to see where things go from here in the next month. |

^ This! In my opinion, the DiMeras should never have been a core family for the show. Stefano should have been a recurring character for occasional arcs, but that's all. I refused to watch GH because they made mobster Sonny Corinthos into a main character with a family. That ruined GH for me. Edited by nananana7, Feb 27 2016, 04:14 PM.
