I wonder if Hope's going to walk across murder park alone on her way home... if she was still on the police force she'd possibly know that the Serial Killer is on the loose again.

Well I watched the ep and as a fan of Stefano I found myself a bit dissapointed.

I think they should have spent more times on the flashbacks. And they didn't choose any particularly good ones except for the final one. Bo's last episode alive was one big montage of flashbacks that outlined Bo/Hope's immense history. When Daniel died he was/is getting name dropped and made relevant constantly. Stefano didn't get much flashbacks and they weren't the right one. Save for the last one which I will admit was a good way to end the episode.

Roman's was good but I understand that they couldn't do much given the original actor had far more material with Stefano. Abe's was meh but that was to be expected. Kate was given an unusual amount of screen time with only one flashback that wasn't good.

John and Marlena's scenes were very disappointing. For Stefano's arch nemeisis to not have been given a slew of dialogue or flashbacks I found it very weird. For one her flashbacks should have been of her time as The Queen of the Night as that is one of her most iconic stories and the height of her relationship with Stefano. Her possession and maison blanche should have been included. However I do understand why they weren't included. The vast majority of usable flashbacks were used in the episode when Marlena and Stefano had their showdown in Italy last year. John's was rather recent and boring.

At the end of the day Stefano's biggest story lines were left out and the episode drifted off topic at times. And of course not enough Opera music.

I'm glad to see Kate and Roman in the same room and I want them to get back together. I'm a KAMAN fan!

Stefano kidnapped Kate and Roman's babies. That is pretty big and there needs to be a mention of Rex and Cassie. He kept Rex and Cassie away from their parents until they were teens.

Roman was getting upset hearing Victor talk to Kate about Stefano. He still in love with her and Kate still loves Roman. Roman is the only man who treated her like a queen.

For some inexplicable reason nobody was afraid of that Serial Killer back then. Why would they care now :D ?

Days hasn't done a solid episode like this one in years, where they have a gathering of vets and a bunch of flashbacks. Seeing characters like Lexie and references to all of Stefano's children! So many historical references! I loved it. The Stefano death storyline hasn't hit many of the right beats, but I think this episode at least hit one of the beats that I wanted to see.

I also enjoyed Kate and Victor both more than I have in ages. I miss this version of Kate who has more going on than propping Theresa and welcoming in the new men of the town in super quick relationships.

I wish we could have more character get-togethers and intermingling more often than once in a great while. Man, I really hope the next six months keep going more like this and less like what we have to endure with Dena.

So let me get this straight Victors OK with the fact that he let Stefano back into town after the tax evasion charges but believes that Stefano was responsible for Bo's imprisonment and subsequent death.

Yep.

Just got done watching the episode. I promised myself not to read reviews prior to episodes but I was too tempted with a "tribute" episode.

I was not impressed.

I only somewhat enjoyed two flashbacks. Stefano and the orchestra, and Marlena deciding she wouldn't sleep with Stefano in her bird cage prison. The rest of the flashbacks? Meh.

The amount of time the spent on Kate, and Kate and Victor was bordering on ridiculous.

It was nice they remembered all of Stefano's children, I guess. Remembering that SanEJ/Colami ret-con? Meh.

John's "checkmate" instead of "cheers" was a nice touch. Marlena & John a touch drunk-happy was cute.

Victor somewhat fondly remembering Stefano when he stated in the same episode that he still believes Stefano was behind Bo's kidnapping?

Thought they picked the right tone for Hope in the episode. [As I mentioned earlier, they should have put in an actual flashback by proxy of another character but after watching the episode, meh, they probably would have picked something boring]

It was nice they did this episode for the character but meh.

You would think at least Marlena might be wary.

And then we saw Stefano standing in the pub!

Thanks to the vid he posted, I was thinking of Corey standing right off-camera when that scene aired.

So Abe's the only guy there Kate hasn't been involved with as she goes into her Soliloquy about how Stefano was the best... NEW STATE theme song.

Well I enjoyed today overall. But the first half was pretty slow.

I think they're setting something up with Kate and Victor. That segment was too long though.

Hope should she been like Roman, you have no chill.

Really surprised to see Abe. Nice surprise. I wonder if they try to make Theo a little DiMera.

John and Marlena were all kinds of adorable and a little drunk today. That moment when he said he got the love of his life was so sweet. And she knew where he was going that comment when he turned to her.

They could have picked a MUCH better John flashback but I did like the ones those chose for Marlena. That cage scene is still awesome.

Checkmate DiMera was perfect.

This episode really made it hard for me to believe that Hope ever had a thing for Roman.

um....one of her flashbacks WAS at the height of the Queen of the Night.....when he held her in the giant birdcage in the "Kingdom of the Night" underground in Paris and she heard John's prayer. I'm just disappointed that they didn't mention John being programmed to be Roman, that they talked about hypnosis, but not microchips, and no mention of Gina or the possession...otherwise, I thought it was.....pretty good. I especially loved Hope seeing Stefano at the end

Yea they just do not want to go anywhere near talking about the John Roman switcheroo

Even in the fall, they talked about John and Marlena meeting and falling in love. Nothing about that little mistaken identity thing lol

Alas, I will go to my grave and never know why Stephano left Kate that jar of kippers in one of his wills. ##@!**%##@!

Stephano conducting at the end was everything.

Stefano deserved a tribute episode. However, has there been anything worth watching in the last few weeks?
