Three and a half minutes in and Caroline is already getting on my nerves. Sigh.

I've enjoyed most of today's episode but of course I wished for so many different flashbacks to be shown: John, for one, who was Stefano's pawn & nemesis, the original Roman etc...but I did enjoy Marlena's flashbacks.
As for Josh Taylor, I have nothing against him per se, I liked him as Kris Kositchek and would have accepted him in any other role BUT Roman.
The thing is, Wayne Northrop was loved as Roman and Drake Hogestyn was also loved and accepted in the role(for 5 years!), but after the tale of the 2 Romans and the retcon of John Black, Roman should have NEVER been recast.
I mentioned on another thread that Ken Corday's biggest flaw was his misguided loyalty towards certain people, well this is one of them...surely he knows and has been told that Josh Taylor is not popular as Roman and yet after almost 20 years, he's still there...

I like what they attempted with today's episode but they could have fit in many more flashbacks if they did without the stupid dialogue at the bar. Marlena shooting Stefano on the catwalk and the Phantom of the Armoir were just two of many great scenes that were missing.

John: "I've been doing a little bit of research and I now know who my parents were."

Everybody else: "Jesus, here we go again..."
Yes, John knows about his parents. Until the writers decide to change the story again.

No. But there's a cage flashback. It's the only flashback where there's actually sort of something happening.

The worst thing is that we probably saw his mother in a couple of episodes and will see his father in five episodes and then they'll be gone. We don't know these people and will never know. What's the point?

Hopefully to end it...and to refocus John.

If it turns out they both suck and he's better off not knowing them, it works for me. And then the book on it is closed.

Yeah... And the thought that they undid John's paternity for Thrady makes me sick...

I find it irritating too, but as much as I wasn't thrilled to see this redone once again, I'm not sorry they undid that particular explanation. John as the Santeen baby never made a lick of sense.

I still kind of expected that at least one of John's parents would be a character we saw/heard of. I guess we needed Ron Carlivati at the helm for this to happen lol.

LOL that's why I think they intentionally had them be people we don't know. So they can be horrible people he never sees again.

Loved this episode..Such a worthy tribute to a legacy character like Stefano. I'm so glad JG wrote this in..It was wonderful hearing all the veteran characters mentioning all of Stefano past deeds. So cool getting to see a Lexie flashback (I miss her so much)...The nods to the past were just so cool today and we got mentions of all of Stefano's children (even Renee, Megan and Peter who are never mentioned)..Damm Stefano really did have a lot of kids!!...I also really enjoyed all of the flashbacks..They did a good job of choosing flashbacks for everyone that was there...John's final speech was wonderful...Loved the checkmate....And the closing scene was brilliant. Goodbye Stefano and JM. Thanks for all your dedication to the show and hard work over the years making us love to hate Stefano.

Sorry if this has already been covered, but, It bugs me that they listed a bunch of Stefano's kids, even one, Megan, I'd never heard of, and they mentioned Kristen.... But, yeah, Peter never existed.... >.>

Missy wasn't there, they should have included him in the list. :P
Peter was mentioned today, by Victor.
And then the camera went to Hope, which is a bit odd as I don't recall Hope & Peter ever really having much to do with each other (outside of anything related to Jen & Peter).
