This episode really made it hard for me to believe that Hope ever had a thing for Roman.
EWW! WHAT? SERIOUSLY????? :x
Hope was 17 & infatuated with Roman (even though he was married to Marlena). Bo teased Hope about it numerous times & Hope was made to look like a fool on a few occasions (trying to "impress" Roman with a sexier/mature dress, making a scrapbook album of newspaper clippings that mentioned Roman, & going to the fishing cabin to deliver Roman some supplies).

They're literally celebrating someone's death. I know he was a bastard to everyone, but this show has no shame, I guess

I don't care that Stefano is dead or anything but I feel really bad for Theo and I think it's the actors fault because he's made me like the character so much. Damnit.

Roman keeps watching Hope and I'm surprised no one has asked why they keep staring at each other.

What a pointless flashback of Kate and Stefano.

Kate should drink more often. She seems fun.

I thought Marlena was putting on a pearl necklace by putting it on her arm and I'm thinking, "was she drunk there too?"

I appreciate how perfect and cheesy the ending of the episode was.

Mixed feelings about this show today.

The flashbacks, I thought, were inadequate and pointless for the most part.

The beginning was awkward because it was like, they're cheering?

The silly flashback of Stefano on the screen at the hospital. Pointless.

The constant staring between Hope and Roman was overkill. No one noticed the staring, it was as blatant as a foghorn, yet Kate picks up on something random Marlena says about Sami.

And I don't care that Hope killed Stefano. What a waste. It shouldn't have been Hope who did it and for such s bullshit reason.

Glad Abe was there, but again, what a stupid flashback to use for him.

Kate's flashback and reminiscing was pointless.

Having JT narrate the whole thing - A big WTFFFFFFF?

Loved the references to John and Marlena's love. There were so many great flashbacks they could have used of Stefano tormenting John and Marlena. Missed the boat on that one too.

For me, they failed to truly capture the evil that was Stefano Dimera (in the 80s and 90s, before they turned him into a clown for the likes of Hope/Gina and Sami).

Where were the flashbacks of Maison Blanche? Poison soup? No flashbacks of John being drugged or held captive. It was all lip service - characters sitting there narrating it - then flashbacks of characters narrating the same thing.

The end gave me chills though. Probably because I was remembering the old Stefano and in that moment, I saw him. Loved the way the radio turned on in the dark and the scene faded to Stefano conducting an orchestra - just like he conducted and controlled the lives of people in Salem.

I loved this episode. Great send-off for Joe. I know everyone is going to complain about the flashbacks used, but they all fit the thoughts that the characters were sharing. John's worked, but I would've used one of the Pawn programming bits. Marlena already had her flashback episode with Stefano last year, so her bits were perfect. I liked that they showed Kate having conflicting emotions. I'm also enjoying the sense of guilt that is overwhelming Hope. Also happy with the group of characters in attendance. If I had my dream send-off, the episode would be 3 hours long. It would have also included Doug, Julie, Jennifer, Maggie, Shawn, Belle, Phillip and Anna. The ending was perfection.

Sorry if this has already been covered, but, It bugs me that they listed a bunch of Stefano's kids, even one, Megan, I'd never heard of, and they mentioned Kristen.... But, yeah, Peter never existed.... >.>

Missy wasn't there, they should have included him in the list. :P
Peter was mentioned today, by Victor.
And then the camera went to Hope, which is a bit odd as I don't recall Hope & Peter ever really having much to do with each other (outside of anything related to Jen & Peter).
Hope got a lot of weird reaction shots. She also had one while J&M were talking about their love.

Yeah... And the thought that they undid John's paternity for Thrady makes me sick...
One of the only two good things Tomsell did. Because everything about that paternity version sucked. Everything.

(The other was Chad/Marlena. If anyone was actually wondering.)

I won't argue that it didn't. But undoing it doesn't mean viewers could "un-watch" it LOL . The harm was done.

I really was hoping for a flashback scene from very early on when Stefano's underground lair (under Doug's Place?) was found to have all those photos of Salemites, maps, etc. It set the tone for what the town - and audience - was in for. And re. the apparition of Stefano at the end of yesterday's episode. Do we think that is that last we'll see of him, or will his ghost appear elsewhere? The scene seemed kind of final to me... but I also wasn't expecting it.

I really appreciated this episode. Whether it was planned or not, I'm glad they decided to devote an entire episode to Stefano and those whose lives he affected most. It's not something that happens on DAYS often. I think they got the right characters involved too. There wasn't a single character I would've replaced or added. Some might say Steve and Kayla should've been there, but I don't really agree. They never really faced off with Stefano, aside from the brief Benji ordeal in the late 80s. And it wasn't until Steve's presumed death was rewritten to be at the hands of the DiMeras that they really fell into that orbit along with John, Marlena, Bo, Hope, etc. Same with Jennifer. Yes, the DiMeras kept Jack and Jennifer apart for years, but it wasn't really ever Stefano orchestrating it. It was either Peter or Andre. Though I still would've kept Steve, Kayla and Jennifer out of the episode, it would've been nice to hear someone mention them by name, just so everyone was really covered.

I loved that every single DiMera child was referenced. Including Peter! We never get a mention of him. I hope Scott Reeves chose not to watch this episode. I still question if it's in Missy's contract that there are no mentions of Peter in scenes with Jennifer.

The flashbacks were great. I think they could've gotten a better one for John though. I really loved Abe's flashback with Stefano hugging Lexie and giving Abe an evil grin. It really showed how manipulative Stefano was and it was Abe's first indication that Lexie would be influenced soon.

I liked the scene cutting to Roman when Kate said Stefano was the only one who truly got her. In fact, I'm glad we got so much Roman in this episode. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm appreciating the increase in screen time for Roman. The character is such an important part of DAYS history, especially when it comes to Stefano's history. There would be no celebration if not for Roman. His rivalry with Stefano is what started all of this. Brady/DiMera feud be damned!

Something I've been confused about for a while now is Roman's face. Did he get plastic surgery? I know when Kristen brought him into John and Marlena's wedding, his face was bandaged. Was it ever confirmed that he had plastic surgery and that's why he looked different in Josh Taylor form? If so, I don't know why we can't get Wayne Northrop flashbacks. Then again, it could be that Wayne doesn't give the show permission to use his image. Just something I've been wondering.

I liked Hope staying quiet throughout the episode. And the subtle looks she shared with Roman as everyone discussed the world being a better place without Stefano.

I thought ending the episode with Stefano orchestrating the symphony was awesome. Great choice!
