There were some bright spots during MarDar's tenure but Brady's relationship with John and Marlena has been awful since Eric Martsolf got the role. He has been so dismissive of them, I just don't see any bond when they are on screen together. When Brady was played by Kyle Lowder, he was already Victor's boy but he still had some closeness with J&M. EM and DH have a really good mother-son chemistry, they just have to have more scenes. It does involve more people. Hence the complaints, because heaven forbid it not just be about John and Marlena.
I don't really like when someone tries to sum up why other fans or even worse, fan bases, are complaining. Everyone should respect everyone else's opinions and right to have them, without trying to characterize those opinions to fit their own narratives. As a J&M Fan, I love umbrella stories. I have craved them since they have been few and far between for over a decade now. Stories that's involve character interaction can be wonderful. But umbrella story or no umbrella story, interactions and relationships need to make sense, and the characters involved in those stores should not be lost in the shuffle or just used as props. So true Josephine

I will never understand why regime after regime has no interest in writing for Bryan considering the rich history his character has and his position as a Horton male, it boggles my mind seriously. Unfortunately it almost seems that Lumi might have been the worst thing for him longterm. I never was a big fan fan of Lucas/Adrienne but it was something.

EM and DH have a really good mother-son chemistry, they just have to have more scenes. This is from TomSell: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYm1X_O36pw I personally have loved KL & EM as Brady. KL's version I feel seemed to have more interaction with John, but I don't think that's the actor's fault as much as it is the writing. I actually happen to love the mom/son chemistry between EM and DH's Marlena. It comes off as sweet and organic. I think a lot of the dismissiveness you've seen has been rooted into the writing of the character and is not so much about the switch in actors. After all, EM's version had him involved in Kristen & Theresa along with fighting a drug addiction. Those things alone have taken up a good chunk of the storylines they've given the character since EM took over the role.

I don't think it's EM's fault - he seems to work well with them when he gets a chance....

I actually like Adrienne and Lucas together. I thought their relationship (what we actually saw of it) was cute. But when it was just dropped I wasn't impressed by that. It's like Adrienne's breast cancer scare being dropped. They need to continue story lines they create IMO. I also kind of like that characters like that actually have their own stories, when they do pop up. That hasn't always been the case.

I'm frankly exhausted with trying to get this show to write for Bryan. It's a no brainer. The guy can act, he plays a great character than can be good or bad if written for... They just don't give a shit about his character and to whomever mentioned Lumi, yes it gave him great story for so long but it also stopped him from moving on to other stories... That's not on the actor but the writers. Every year it seems we get word that they are writing for him... I think Gabi and Lucas will happen in some capacity.... It wasn't just Bryan talking... But we'll see what happens.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
They also need to do their research. It was inexplicable that Steve, Abby, and J.J. didn't also get tested. Just another notch of embarrassment to this nothing story.
And another thing...the whole thing started because apparently Jo was sick. And none of them really cared? Even Adrienne was too busy worrying she might have the gene (but not even be sick yet) to worry about her actually sick mother. Thank you for saying this. It bugged me like crazy but somehow never came up in the threads cause the story never fully emerged. How could they not have Adrienne, Steve, Jennifer, JJ, Abby and quite a few others worried about Jo who had actual cancer. Having the gene is I am sure trauatic but Jo had the actual disease!

Do you remember when Bryan talked about Lucas and Gabi? I didn't take it seriously (I thought it was just wishful thinking) but maybe I should. It was a SID interview. Summarized at SOC and brought over here: http://daytimeroyaltyonline.com/topic/9268498/1
The version of the interview summarized at SOC was from CBS-SID. That CBS-SID interview made the Lucas/Gabi thing seem like a main section of the interview.
I never got around to posting this but ... The following week, ABC-SID republished the *same* BD interview and reorganized it. The ABC-SID version emphasized and expanded upon different things; and the quote about Gabi was relegated to an anecdote in a sidebar box.

So if Bryan based what he said about Lucas/Gabi on stuff they taped together, it must have been taped before the holiday break. And that would air at some point between now and mid-June.

I wonder what JJ and Chad lie about. Abby knows Ben's escaped.
Love the Wednesday spoiler. They must have to wait until Eduardo comes around for info and by then the bad guys had time to move John somewhere else. And look at all those people!

It's probably the lie about Ben heading for the border when they already know he's headed towards Salem or have no clue where he is.
