There must have been lots of "cringing"!when it aired because it was OJ mania and days was the only soap who gained viewers. And yes it was s great love story |

Exactly. She has a clause in her contract that allows her to do Days (because of Sony) (it's not "sharing"). The only problem Days might have to deal with is her busy schedule (or she might decide not to return). Edited by thepadange, Mar 7 2016, 03:54 PM.

I've never been one to follow the crowd so it doesn't surprise me that it was popular. Nevertheless...like I said...it made ME cringe! |

I'll give him a chance. I'm hoping and praying for better writing for AZ/Nicole. |

I agree with Drew in that this reminds me a bit of what happened with RC at OLTL. He was one that rose through the ranks, paid his dues, got brought in simply to assist Higley, and was promoted to HW. Of course, RC had support amongst the longtime cast and crew having been there a long time. If Quan gets that, that would help. I like that he rose through the ranks of NBC daytime and Days. He also was a fan. The interesting part in all this for me is Corday wrote a letter to JG thanking him. That speaks volumes. I'm sure part of it was Josh not wanting to work with Dena but the fact that Corday credited him and was that grateful and praised him in that fashion is different than before when he seemed to get rid of one of Dena's co-HW's because he felt Dena had the better direction. Maybe this is a situation of riding out Dena's contract or letting Quan learn in the HW position until he has a firm grasp on it and can take it over as the sole HW. We will see. He's young and may come cheaper as far as writers go. Also, it's interesting that they promoted someone that had a hand in the Will coming out story. I do wonder if the negative backlash to what happened to Will played into this. I also like that he seems to enjoy characters like Victor, Kate, and Nicole because the show needs characters that stir the pot and the current regime seems more about psychos and straight out villains and good characters doing vigilante type things rather than vixens and schemers. I don't mind what they are doing but we need a bit more of just the typical schemers. That is where bringing characters like Kate and Nicole back to form could help. I'm all for Kristen with the right story. I actually liked her far more 2012-2013 than I ever did because she felt more like a character and not so cartoonish. Yeah, they messed up J&M royally and Brady too during that time but they handled Kristen well. If they could utilize Kristen like that again without ruining anyone else, go for it. |

I would be down for it if he allowed for Kristen to put that little monster in her place. I am so sick of her "I've now reformed and everything is hunky-dory" act. It's like that nonsense happened overnight and people have just forgotten about her being a pain in the ass. |

To be fair that was what Kristen said when she returned and Brady bought it. Though Theresa isn't just saying it, the writers "redeemed" her. Kristen has no room to talk, though. |

On a hilarously ironic note, I crack up whenever I see you post about DAYS Theresa and then your beautiful Therethan banner because the two Theresa's aren't any different to me in badness (except in this case, Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald stole the embryo/raped the man, Kristen style). I love both Theresas. Not intended to be a negative post or anything, I just always chuckle a little  |

I hope he also writes for the vets like John, Marlena, Steve, Kayla, Hope, etc. I would hate it if they were pushed to the background. That's happened before with Higley being one of the head writers. I'm willing to give him a chance but since they let Josh slip through their fingers and kept that hack Dena I'm rather skeptical. They should've let her go and kept Josh. |

They didn't redeem Theresa, they white-washed her. I have no idea what Brady (and we) saw that could have been considered as a "redemption or a change process". I mean, one day she was scheeming to get Brady's fiance out of town, fire Tate's nanny and hire some random person, feigned an injury, was disgusted by Tate's diapers and then the other day she was a loving mother and a loyal partner to Brady because she suddenly realized she could sketch. Why should I (or Brady) believe her? (it's not more based on evidence than it was in Kristen's case, it's just words in both cases). If the writers now decided to write that all of the Theresa's actions after the white-washing were fake, I would believe them because I didn't see her changing onscreen. Vivian switched the in vitro containers, so her theft was BEFORE implantation. Kristen actually had a fetus removed from Theresa, she stole it, kidnapping and drugging Theresa to do it, and then had it implanted within herself. That was truly SICK. |

I'm sure Steve and Kayla will stay front burner. It sounds like Ryan Quan grew up watching them. |

I think Ryan Quan is for Nicole, Theresa, Paul and few others. The vets may be for Dena! Its Dena who is keeping Steve and Kayla, frontburner! And still may be, because she is still our head writer. |

I haven't heard Quan say he's for Theresa at all. He mentioned Kate, Nicole, and Victor. He's retweeted some stuff for CS, so he probably enjoys Paul, but I haven't heard (or read) a word of him liking Theresa. That would put me off, lol. |

From what it looks like Ryan is going to write for Nicole, Brady, even Theresa, Paul, Ciara and others. Dena is the one who write for particular type...Steve/Kayla, Rafe/Hope...maybe John/Marlena. I don't know about Victor, Abe and Roman. Either Victor could be written by Ryan for now or its Dena. You can tell at this minute on TV, who is writing for who. I know for the fact that Dena is writing for Steve/Kayla! |

Again, you've given me no proof that Quan likes Theresa or wants to write for her. Where did you get that! ^o) |

Legitimate question: How do you know unequivocally the breakdown and structure of the writing team? From what I've been told from actors on other soaps that had a two-person head writing team at one point or another, even they weren't 100% certain of which writer originated a story. The actors didn't know the deep, deep inner workings of the writing room. They didn't know who was pitching the story. Again, they just assumed because they either saw more of a particular writer on the set or one writer was more vocal than the other that this must be the one who is behind the storytelling. There seems to be a lot of assumptions and wishful storytelling projections on the new writing team. |
