Yeah as "that baby". Not as his great-granddaughter. Hell I wouldn't have minded if he said Marlena's great-granddaughter.
But he still remembered Ari, even if he didn't mention her name or relationship to her.
I get that people could sound a little more familiar with each other, and I'd like that too. But I don't go around referring to all my relatives by the way we're related. Do other people?

Really didn't care about it, to be honest. The audience knows who they are to each other, I know who they are, and I saw it more as an emphasis that she is a tiny freaking human. That they've kidnapped. So there will be freaking hell to pay. Or a bloodbath, if they even give them so much as a hangnail.

I still wanna know what year Petrov appeared in.
1982, I think, and then he disappeared in 1986 or 1987. He briefly appeared in 1990 too, I believe.

Thank you JCP.

I don't want Kayla to get over it fast, or be able to want to put it in the past quickly. There needs to be consequences, I am glad Joey and his dad could make peace, but Steve needs to deal with the fact that he thought he could handle it all by himself and it had a bad result. He didn't go to family or even ask Caroline if she could see anything. I have a feeling if Bo was still there, that Steve would have went to him for help.

I just don't want this made easy for Steve.

Deimos told John to leave before the situation gets unpleasant. I hope these two hate each other for a LONG time
And I would love a scene where J&M see him in a public place (so I guess, the Square), and Deimos feigns innocence while Marlena stays cool and John seethes. Or he comes up to Marlena, flirts with her as John seethes from a distance, and Marlena remains uninterested (cue the eye roll from Lysie's avatar).

And then he stays as the big bad so I can treasure his mere presence on this show.

I call my youngest niece the baby girl pretty exclusively so I get what you're saying

I'm sorry but I need to ask this: is Ava a fucking 12-year old? I used to have a crush on Chad Kroeger from Nickelback and I NEVER thought about a shrine.
I`m almostafraid to say this but I was crazy about Shaun Cassidy when I was about 10. I even had pictures of him from teen mags on my walls.

It NEVER looked like the Steve Shrine Ava had though.

Does Petrov have long blond hair or short gray hair? (The actor has several different looks)
Longer blonde hair.
OH, is that what that was? :o

Hope should have gotten a safe like Eduardo's for Bo's gun.
She did have one. She struggled with it during the Aiden fight.

I have missed John in heroic mode, Drake nailed that last scene.
I thought that second scene was just SO GOOD.

Is that an old picture because he looks really young, younger than the character is supposed to be at least.
Let's just say Mr. Petrov must eat babies, because he looks younger than he did in the 80s.

I was starting to wonder if it was maybe a southern thing. I mean my facebook feed is full of babies and the comments are often things like "give that baby a kiss from me" or "look at that baby's attitude" or "that baby knows what's up" (okay, that's last one is usually what I say) or whatever. I tend to roll my eyes at the people that insist on making sure everyone knows how they're related to "that baby." I actually just literally rolled my eyes at someones grandmother doing this. But that's also because I know their family history, so....

Anyway, I realize that's different from a kidnapping. And again, I do wish they'd sound more familiar. But I haven't even really had a problem with Hope/Claire. I'd like more interaction with them, but I don't need her to say grandma constantly.

I kind of do. :blulaugh: The only time I call my niece or nephew anything else is if I'm with immediate family. Otherwise I always refer to them as "my nephew E------" and "my niece A--." I also do the same thing with my sisters. My sister A---" and "my sister I-----."

Could be a cultural thing (upper midwest), or maybe it's just a personal preference I have that I didn't realize was uncommon.

I wonder how long the "Agency" had to wait for a time when Marlena was babysitting Arianna alone in the park? They must be patient assassins.

Why is John calling Ari "that little girl" and not "my granddaughter?"
They'll NEVER let him call her that. Might confuse newer viewers, ya know.

It was well balanced, the acting was damn good today, and it had the creepy factor but it also had Chad being a beautiful, hopeful guy who just wants to be happy with his girl and his son. He's so hopeful that things will work out sometimes, it's actually great. It's new for a DiMera. Abby is kind of a wreck and losing it (understandably, she should have major PTSD from that event), and Chad's not being all passive aggressive or yell-y, and leaving her overnight, because she's not what he wanted her to be.

I like that she asked Chad why he’s able to be so calm. And I LIKE that the roles are reversed a little. Because she SHOULD be the one terrified. She was held captive by a man who just escaped, who thinks she has his child. And Chad is just 100% about her.. She wasn't crying or being whiny, she was also angry. And it affected her conversation with Jennifer and her little moment with Thomas… it didn’t all of a sudden end and then start again with Chad.

I feel like Rafe should just be a cop, because he's so tolerable in that role. I haven't been able to stand him for 3 months... and today I didn't mind. I still can't stand JJ, but... you can't have everything you want. I'm still not a fan of Eduardo, but those scenes were still good.

John/Deimos was really nice. That first scene was meh, but then that second one? SO GOOD!

Steve and Kayla was creepy as hell, but I liked the normalcy of Joey coming home in the middle of it, and then it being S&K in the creepy room. I also really liked Steve's reaction when the key opened the door. SN played that really nicely (subtle, but nice). Like "Of course, the hell man?" to himself.

When Josh Griffith did his interview in Voldy back in August, he mentioned how he always wanted to write for Days and was a fan and we know he was at Santa Barbara as a writer too. He clearly was big into the late 80's/early 90's stuff and you look at the show in the Fall and there were shades of it but, today, it was like the show returned to those years. The whole vibe was like something out of 1988-1992. This is clearly the kind of show Griffith wants to write and his vision of Days was truly on display today and Milstein has always been of this same vision too. I remember during her brief 2006 stint the show had a vibe at times like today.

It was just an awesome show. You had 3 stories going on that, at their center, involved 3 major/super couples. You had the new young couple in Chad/Abby and their story, Steve and Kayla, and John and Marlena. Classic late 80's/early 90's Days especially with tying things together like Petrov, Deimos, the formula, Winterthorne, etc. Classic Days.

I really liked the Jennifer/Abby scenes. You can tell beneath the surface that Abby is losing it and Jennifer is too. So many layers in those scenes and I loved the way they are building this Ben stuff. You just never know where or when he will pop up and that is frightening.

The Steve/Kayla stuff was great. The scene with Steve finding the shrine was chilling. The music cue there was just perfect. I was wondering when the snake stuff would come in and it was cool how it was integrated. Really effective scenes.

The kidnapping stuff built well. The tension, the emotion...it was all there. Loved the stuff with Petrov and that last scene with John/Deimos was fantastic. Drake seems to be really invested, which is good. I just love how many people this involved. CB was great today and so was GG and AM. This is the most I have liked Rafe since November. That scene with Eduardo was awesome. So much great buildup with this.

Also, I feel like today was probably one of the best paced shows since Griffith came in last August. Everything flowed well.

I think the issue with not reinforcing relationships is that while a portion of the audience know, many don't. I often have to remind my mother about relationships. It's less a real-world thing and more a good dramatic practice thing. And Ari has been on since 2015, before the kidnapping.

I do if it's not clear who I'm talking about. But like...they know whose baby they have. John doesn't really need to break that down for them.

I haven't even seen it yet. Depending on how he says it, it might bother me. But when I read it, it sounded exactly like me the last few weeks, lol.
