So they're going to drink the drug because it's a condition to free Marlena and Ari. And it's kind of smart because it'll explain how the capture happens fairly easily by incapacitating them first. And they really didn't have much choice but to drink it. Unless they fake it somehow |

If I had just started watching the show in the last few months I would be shocked to find out that Joey/Ciara were first cousins and that Hope was Claire's grandmother. |

Enjoying this episode so far because of the stories today. No Bummer and I'm halfway through with NO mentions of Daniel. It's a good day. |

There are various degrees of almost all felony criminal charges (murder, robbery, rape, assault, etc.). Generally, the level of violence/force used, and/or the amount of premeditation differentiates the charges. In regards to rape, someone who breaks into a house (or a car) and rapes the person inside will likely face a first degree charge, while someone who slips a roofie into a drink and rapes the person who lacks the ability to consent will face a lesser degree. Just as somebody who plans and then carries out a murder (first degree) will face a different charge than the person who murders somebody in the heat of passion (second degree). |

I wonder if Joey knows that his mom was also raped. Did they shelter him as a child and never told him? Finally some action, I can't stand it when the characters just stand around and talk. It is John and Marlena's story, stop making it so much about the Hernandez clan. |

The state laws showing the degrees are on the RAINN website here: https://apps.rainn.org/policy-app/index2.cfm |

It can be about both. Since Ari is involved. Theres a way to do umbrella stories well. Next week is really heavy with the John backstory stuff. Oh and I'd guess Joey doesn't know Edited by Lovejm, Mar 10 2016, 02:11 PM.

Was I suppose to be scared for Philip? Was I suppose to think that cop was a bad guy? Phil and the cop seemed to know each other already so why were they talking about the death like they never talked about it before or like it just happened? So now both Belle and Phil have ill-gotten money. Are they the Bonnie and Clyde of Salem? |

I like this Ciara and Hope scenes back at the house and glad they mentioned she got checked and possible counseling. Now I just need Ciara to tell Hope to tell Jennifer to get rid of that couch. I can't help but think Team Ciara Squad was so cute when they went to check on Ciara. |

I was reading the list of charges per state on the RAINN site, and my impression is that rape degrees aren't decided by whether it's premeditated or spontaneous. My impression was that it's about the level of physical violence included with the rape ... and the age or mental awareness of the victim. .. and if there is anything like a prison guard or doctor breaking a trusted relationship of care. Very disappointing. I thought there would be more to the Chase/teens scene than that. I cannot believe those kids left CIARA all alone with him like that. Edited by kay, Mar 10 2016, 03:02 PM.

I was pleasantly surprised by the teen story. It wasn't as over the top as I was afraid it would be. VJ was good in that scene with Hope back at the Horton house. She had this moment where she looked like she was really going to break down. I don't especially like the scenes where she's yelling or being upset and raising her voice because she tends to add a shakiness to her voice to make herself sound upset. I think AS used to do that too. The actors that play Claire and Joey don't impress me at all. The guy that plays Theo is okay but I don't feel like he is autistic. His reactions to things are about as normal as the average kid. |

I agree that although the hospital scenes weren't necessary, it was certainly a missed opportunity. My position on the matter is daytime affords you the luxury of time to thoroughly explore a sensitive and topical issue such as rape, especially involving teenagers. Can you imagine how powerful it would have been for Hope and Ciara to have gone to Kayla for the examination. So while the examination being mentioned in dialogue covers that aspect, I was disappointed in an actual hospital scene not being shown. |
