Well...that's sort of anticlimactic. :glare:
Roman.
HAHA! True enough.

I'm just hoping that this doesn't mean they actually go on the run and are offscreen for weeks. I really don't have a clue what their next story will be, though.

I think Ken thinks this is the last renewal. He doesn't care whether anyone likes his writers or not. That is why Dena will be there till cancellation. He also doesn't care whether anyone likes the stories. ugh.

He thinks he has already given the fans what he thinks they deserve, and that was the 50 th celebration, which I thought was a bust. JMO.
With Corday I think it's all about controlling the fans not pleasing them.
I think, it's about ratings. They only care about these numbers because they mean renewal or cancellation. They don't care why people watch and whether they like the show or not.
I think they realize ratings and what people want to watch are connected, they just have no clue what will get people to tune in day in day out.

Yeah, I agree. They're barely out of their bubble to begin with.

Is it just me or does that seem like a pretty shitty way to run a business.

I'm an architect and if I didn't care whether my clients liked the end product I don't think I'd do too well.

Joey's telling the truth and Roman doesn't buy it?

There were inconsistencies in Steve's story, and they pointed to Joey, Roman.

Why is he being such an idiot?

It's not that I want Joey punished in a huge way, but I want the truth out there, and I want Joey to face some kind of consequence. I'm not mad at him. He feels terrible and Ava was definitely a threat to Kayla. But some consequence is in order.

At least he's coming forward.

IMO it's difficult for them to know what show would be compelling for the audience. They have 2-3 millions of viewers with very different tastes as their clients. (Some are very vocal but most aren't.). How can they know what all these people like to watch?

When people say they dislike something it could mean very different things as well.
I've seen a lot of negative comments about "villains". Some people (not all lol) don't like them just because they do bad things (they don't care about their role in a more general picture).

Sometimes people complain a lot but watch the show, sometimes they don't complain but stop watching. There are situations where there's a lot of backlash - eg. Delia's death/Y&R - people didn't like it but they were watching.

That's why it's more about watching than complaints/likes. If some viewers don't like the story because their favorite couple has an interloper and they're angry but still watch (eg.Ejami fans during Ejabby affair) it's not a problem for the show, on the contrary, it's good. But if people don't like it because the show is boring and they aren't invested, it should be important to them because sooner or later it will lead to people stop watching.

As a child many years ago, I learned that some things that make viewers angry are often what drives them to watch.

Grandma was the more serious viewer than grandpa. She'd say things like "I'm so mad I could quit watching!". Grandpa would laugh and ask me "Do you know how many times she's said that?" Grandma would then slap his shoulder!

Grandpa and I spent most of our viewing laughing which must have gotten on grandma's nerves.

I think grandpa was the bigger fan because he just went with the flow and enjoyed laughing. Grandma was a hatewatcher, LOL! I miss them so much.

Roman would just cover it up anyway. He does not follow any rules when it comes to family.

I think the reason Roman doesn't believe Joey is telling the truth is so they don't have him cover up a second crime. It's silly either way.

Yeah, I'm hoping that it plays out differently than it sounds. Maybe Roman's reaction is more like, "I'm going to pretend you didn't tell me any of this, and this conversation didn't happen." If Roman's reaction is, "I just think you're covering for your dad's ass," then I'll be  .

So Belle is going to learn what is going on with her dad but Brady for some reason hasn't been told or just doesn't care??

I don't get it? I would think that they would have told the immediate family, Lucas, Eric, Brady and Belle when this all started with Marlena and Ari being kidnapped.
With Brady's heart transplant, maybe no one wants to give him unnecessary stress right now.Plus the less people who knew about Marlena and Ari been kidnapped the safer they would have been because the more people who knew the more danger Marlena and Ari could have been.
This is what I was thinking as well. Brady's heart transplant is rather new and I'm sure that no one wants to cause him any stress. I'm sure he'll find out.

Roman might just pretend that Joey is trying to cover for his dad by taking the blame.Yes Joey's DNA was on Ava's pillow but Steve sort of explained that away.So unless Joey has definite proof that he killed Ava Roman might just pretend the conversation with Joey never happened.Plus if Joey admits he was drunk that night Roman could think Joey was drunk and just thinks he killed Ava.

I just wonder if it's ever going to come out that Hope is a murderer? Or is that going to be swept under the rug? I cannot stand to look at her anymore.

I agree, but I don't mind her being a murderer so much as the Salem PD covering it up. I could buy her killing Steffie, just not the cover up.

I can't either. They ruined her character for me. I can't root for her. She can leave and I wouldn't care.

I just do.
