Hold on...I just figured out that MW is Greek. Why was she not cast as some kind of Kiriakis? (Or why was she cast at all?) I know these shows screw with ethnicities all the time, but I just find it funny/ironic. |

Interesting ... Do these actors not know how easily we can find the truth now, what with the internet and whatnot? I personally know a pretty famous one who shaved almost ten years off of his birthdate, and all it makes you think is, man, he looks BAD for his age! :eyeroll: Meanwhile, remind me again what the point was of spending more money on hiring MW and changing lots of Days' history for what seems to be a total snoosefest??? |

I think actors are frequently encouraged by agents or others to lie about their ages. I know there's probably some personal motivation in other cases as well, but it's not uncommon at all. Especially for women. |

They don't change their ages for us. MW does not look 50 or older than Shawn Christian regardless of her birth year. I have no idea what the point of this was. I don't even think it's going to last. |

California and Texas have their entire birth databases through 1995 or so online, so those are the easiest to find. Also the California Marriage database lists the age at marriage through 1985, so with a majority of actors being born or married at some point in CA, they are actually some of the easiest people to confirm birthdates for. With the release of the 1940 census a few years ago, that's another good way to confirm for older people. The 1950 census will be out in about 6 years. As for the rest of us, pretty much all of us are in the other public databases, so you can basically find anyone who is 30 or older. It's hit or miss for the younger people in their 20's who haven't been added as much yet to the databases. And, having done research through the years, there are definitely some errors in the public databases, but I'd say they probably have about a 90% accuracy. |

I've had a few contact me through the years and ask me to outright lie about their age, make them younger on my birthday list. Since I won't lie, the most I can do is remove their year of birth. |

Oh, I know the motivation and how some actors are pushed to do this, but it is really ridiculous now. Way back when, someone (i.e., a fan, reporter) would need to be very interested/motivated/obsessed to call a public office, physically go to a place to get public records, or speak to friends/family to find out the truth about actors' real ages. Now, if an actor reaches a modicum of success, their real age will be found either because someone did some monor internet sleuthing or because someone outed him/her on the net. Seems like it is not worth the hassle. ETA: But, I guess if they reached a certain level of success by lying in the first place, it was worth it to them. But, in actuality, it will begin to get easier again now as the younger actors start coming on the scene, since most of the data only goes to 1995. This was the last group of actors (Kyler Pettis, James Lastovic, etc...) whose birthdates will be quite easy to confirm from the CA and TX databases. The 20 and under crowd will again be easily able to shave a few years off their birthdates, just as the acting community did before the Internet was around. |

Yeah, I was personally surprised when I read she was only 43. I remember her on PC about 16 years ago, and she didn't look 27 then to me. |

Being from Greece and Canada helps. It's prevented me from getting an accurate age, which I'm pretty good at researching. There's no records I can find of her graduating from a Toronto high school, which would have been around 1991/1992 based on the 1974 birthdate. Her husband is listed as 53. |

The bigger problem is that the show is claiming she's in her 30s. It almost doesn't matter what she looks like. They've established her as younger than Daniel but with a backstory that's older than him. |

I saw two in 74 which really doesn't matter, simply because the age's as depicted on the show don't add up, especially with Summer. |

which of course she can't be and still be Maggie's daughter that she had at age 17 "Grabs sandwich and prepares to toss it at the screen" Summer as her daughter in her thirties, destroys Dan's time line, Mel's time line, all her children adopted or whatever timeline, her grandchildren's time line, Mickey and Maggie's time line, the Horton time line...man you can see this was wrote by some with a large brain.
