Jade joking about murder is disturbing. Are we supposed to like her? Another useless and unlikable character.
Worse than useless Bev.
Bev wasn't useless. AP and CM actually had chemistry unlike TO'B.
I never got the appeal of Bev or Rory, they were totally useless to me.

And I definitely think Hope should keep Ciara out of the Horton house right now, but she should have an issue sending her to Marlena's because she knows what's going on there.

Marlena is pissed, and if I were Belle I'd be hiding under the coffee table.
She's going to get grounded.
Well she'll have good company. I'm pretty sure John is seconds away from being grounded by Jigsaw.
That's what happens when you sass.

If Claire gets grounded when her parents find out about the party, we'll have multigenerational house arrest.

I'm embarrassed for James Lastovic everytime he raises his voice, his acting is so bad.

The Teens should have taken this off month and got the same acting classes Arianne Zucker went to during her time off the show during 2006-2008 ^o)

Yeah, the family thing from Roman was specifically about Belle being married to Shawn. But it was incredibly random.

Jade's statements really concern me. I don't think we needed another disturbed teenager. Joey needs to run away from Jade as fast as he can. Roman---just retire. Once you turn in to a dirty cop there's no going back. I am glad that Hope is going to get Ciara help. Also glad that Hope said that she's not 21 and shouldn't be drinking. The bartender was there to say he didn't serve her, but dude you were watching a minor drinking in that establishment, so maybe you should have stopped it earlier? Just a thought.
It's strange that you have to be 21 to legally drink in the United States. It's 18 in most coutries. Here in Switzerland, it's even 16 for beer, 18 for spirits.
Why is it strange?
Because you can vote and serve your country at 18 so you should also be able to drink. It is like you are a pretend adult with all of the responsibility but not really fully an adult. That said I'd be fine with raising the age of majority in this country to 21 instead.

Today is yet another reminder of how schizophrenic this show can be. We really had 3 storylines going (Hope/Ciara, Belle/Marlena, and Kayla/Joe/Steve/Roman) and they were all parent/child issues. And they were all really good. I know there were little bits with Claire/Theo and Shawn/Lani, and I liked those too. But, for the three main stories:

Hope/Ciara - I continue to have issues with VJ's acting, but I still thought the scenes were good. I like that they are addressing all of the things that they should be addressing - how Ciara feels, her shame, anger, fear. How she feels being in that house, what she wanted to do to Chase, how she could have liked someone that could do that. Those are real questions that rape victims have and I'm glad they are addressing them. I also liked what Hope said about how killing someone haunts you (that was another theme today). It was just a really good conversation between Ciara and Hope and the kind of thing the show can do well when it slows down a little and focuses on the details. My only nitpick - and only because of Hope's dialogue with Kayla on Friday - is that I would have been thrilled if she had something to Ciara about talking to her Aunt Kayla. It's not necessary and it's not so much a criticism as a slight disappointment since they referenced Kayla's rape on Friday.

Marlena/Belle - again, really well done by Deidre and Martha. Belle's concern is natural, but Marlena's determination was fierce and I like that. There was a lot of emotion packed in the scenes.

Steve/Kayla/Joe/Roman - I thought all of this was really well done. I loved Steve coming in and pointing out that it was ALL his fault and he would take responsibility for it. I loved the subtext in that, telling Joey (and Kayla) that he knows that Ava only got her chance because of him. And I really appreciated Roman's dialogue basically echoing that. It fits with how Roman's not really happy with Steve these days, as well as trying to get Joey to see that ruining his life is not his best option. At the same time, I like that Joe was mad about that and appreciate that he wants to take responsibility.

Really enjoyed Steve and Joe's talk. I love that what got Joey to back off was Steve telling him not to break Kayla's heart (with the implied, like I did). I like that Steve referenced his absence from Joey's life as part of the reason he needs to do this now. I know JLa isn't a favorite around here anymore, but I thought he did well with the emotion in the scenes with SN.

And I must be getting worn down, because I didn't even have an issue with Roman and Kayla's conversation. I actually really liked it. It touched on all the things people have talked about - how Joey needs counseling, how this is going to haunt him, etc. It's a good conversation to show that Kayla isn't oblivious to all of this. And I liked how Roman asked if she and Steve were "working on things" and she couldn't even really answer. It's a nice way to show that they might be trying to present a united front in all of this, but they haven't even begun to really deal with any of the issues in their relationship. And nothing that happened at the end really changed that. Yes, he kissed her and she kissed him back, but that doesn't change anything. He loves her, she loves him. That's never been untrue. But it also doesn't change any of the issues separating them at the moment.

So, really, it was a nice, emotional show. I connected with it in a way that I haven't felt since probably November. I just hope this is a more frequent occurrence for a little while.

I liked today for the most part. I wish they'd slowed down the Marlena/Belle scenes, but otherwise I really liked them. I especially liked the end. Marlena had been so frustrated, but the way she said she loved her I think communicated that the frustration wasn't really with her. And of course I like that Marlena doesn't care that Rafe and Steve told her know. Her response to Belle commenting on that "I didn't ask" cracked me up.

The Hope/Ciara stuff was good, but I'm still not getting enough emotion from Hope. She's just not clicking with this. It's not the relationship really. I think that comes across well. I especially liked Ciara grabbing her hand and asking her not to leave her. The Claire thing is becoming more distracting.

The Steve/Kayla/Joey/Roman stuff was hot and cold. Steve and Kayla were good. Roman and Joey were not. I think MBE is doing really well. Even in the beginning when she wasn't really saying anything, she seriously looks like she's just so nauseated by the whole thing.

Shawn/Lani/Philip...not sure why any of them were in this episode. But okay.

My show was mostly obama in cuba... to bad. I had a free afternoon.. Was thinking of having some fun with it. Guess I'll go get the oil changed instead.

See, Belle. Philip is smart. He recognizes that Marlena is about to strangle someone and he wants the heck out.
LOL!! I still want Kristen back to interact with Martha's Belle. That's never happened before. I'd love to see Belle and Kristen clash.

What a weird day, pacing wise. Some of this stuff (Belle/Marlena, Steve/Joey/Kayla) could have been Friday instead of the Rafe/Steve/Marlena vamping, then the cliffhanger taking us into the rescue early this week. Hope/Ciara would have been a good B story to the rescue, since Rafe convinced Hope to stay behind for Ciara's sake. Is this rocket science?

JLa was very good in the scenes in the park with SN, not so much opposite JT at the station. He and PS have real chemistry, but this story is not a foundation for anything good.

Those Kayla/Roman scenes reminded me again why I'm a MBE fan... Wasn't expecting that S/K kiss but it's very Josh Griffith. This is just like last fall. It was interesting to hear Kayla talking about what Ava did to Steve in particular.

I need a break from Claire/Ciara/Theo -- VJ was mostly terrible today -- and Roman soon. I didn't mind him caring about Belle but with everything that's been cut, tough to see a Philip/Roman scene making it to air.

The Grandma Hope stuff wasn't bothering me before, but it's getting ridiculous. She'll call Claire's parents? Well good. I'd like them to acknowledge each other.
Wait. Did Hope say that?!?

GRANDMA! Claire finally referred to Hope as GRANDMA! Thank GOD!

Also is it wrong if I'm team "Joey tells the truth and somebody believes him and drops the case against Steve and doesn't charge Joey"?

I don't know. A lot of stuff are strange in America, it's a crazy country. No offense.
What is wrong with young adults drinking alcohol? I think at 18, you are old enough to know how to drink responsibly.
