update: August 18, 2017

On Friday August 18, 2017, Jensen Buchanan pleaded GUILTY to driving under the influence, crashing into and seriously injuring a driver on Highway 154.

[Buchanan originally pleaded NOT guilty in October 2016, after being charged with DUI causing injury, and felony DUI with a blood alcohol content of over 0.08 causing injury, plus special allegations.]

Now that she has entered the new plea, sentencing will be October 6, 2017.
Her possible sentence could include five years of probation plus up to 365 days in County Jail.

Judge James Voysey reminded Buchanan that the sentence was conditional, meaning that it may change after the court hears about victim Bradley Asolas' medical conditions during the sentencing hearing set for Oct. 6.

More details, and comments from the victim, here:

Jensen Buchanan was sentenced to
one year in Santa Barbara County Jail
plus five years probation.

She was more than 4 times legally drunk at the time of the accident, and her victim was badly hurt.

The sentence was imposed after victim-impact statements were given in court. The statements were from the man she hit, detailing his injuries, and also from his wife.

There's a lot of detail in the article in the local newspaper here:

Some horrendous injuries mentioned by the victim.

Disgusting. I guess she still had money from being married to her rich ex-husband to pay those lawyers. I'm sure he's glad not to be attached to trouble of this kind anymore.

She should have gotten the maximum sentence...what she has done to this poor mans life due to her absolutely disgusting behaviour is borderline unforgivable.

And she only pleaded guilty after she knew she was going to get prison time.

It's amazing she was even conscious enough to get in the car with a blood alcohol level that high. Awful story. How far she's fallen from the mid-90s when Another World was turned into "The Jensen Buchanan Hour."

I just don't get it why people do it - it's not that she didn't have enough money for a cab/uber

I mean...the answer is because they're too drunk to make reasonable judgment calls. That's not sympathy, but a person that drunk isn't going to make good decisions.

Rich justice eh?

How does the ankle monitor work? Who cares, it works for all the other people they put these alcohol monitoring devices on.

Apparently they are pretty sensitive. You can’t use any kind of product that has alcohol in it. Like perfume or cologne. I’m not saying this is what happened. She probably did drink. But I’m sure they will try to pull this defense.

Then don't wear perfume. This is supposed to be a punishment.
